This website is to provide reliable and current information for families in Uk and Ireland affected by the BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations.  With the knowledge of the presence of the BRCA mutation and information as to how to manage the risk of cancer women have the opportunity to make decisions and prevent history repeating itself.

In Northern Ireland genetic testing for BRCA mutations started twenty years ago and by 2016, over 800 women were shown to carry a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation.  There are about 700 women known BRCA carriers in Northern Ireland and almost two thirds of these women have had predictive genetic testing before being diagnosed with cancer.
